Sub-Zero Leaking Water? Fast Sub-Zero Leak Repair
Water pooling under a Sub-Zero, collecting under the crisper drawers or dripping onto hardwood floors needs attention fast. A built-in leak can damage cabinets and flooring before you see it. Appliance Tech Pros has repaired Sub-Zero leaks across North Atlanta and North Georgia since 2014, using genuine OEM parts. Call our Sub-Zero line at (470) 805-1621 for same-day service.
Where Sub-Zero Leaks Usually Show Up
- Under the refrigerator, especially between the doors
- Inside the base, under the crisper drawers
- Around the water dispenser or filter
- Water or ice collecting on the bottom of the fresh food section
- Ice forming around the freezer door
- Rust or stains on the floor or toe-kick grille
Common Causes of a Sub-Zero Leak
- Clogged defrost drain. The most common cause. Defrost water backs up, overflows and freezes, then leaks into the cabinet.
- Cracked or full drain pan. The pan under the unit can crack or overflow.
- Water line or fitting. A loose, cracked or kinked supply line behind the unit, often after the unit was pulled out.
- Water inlet valve. A failing valve drips constantly into the ice maker or dispenser.
- Water filter housing. A cracked housing or a filter that isn’t seated.
- Ice maker fill problems. Overfilling causes water and ice to spill over.
- Door gasket. A worn seal causes condensation that drips down the door.
What to Do Right Now
- Shut off the water supply valve behind or under the unit if you can reach it
- Dry the floor and place towels to protect hardwood and cabinets
- Don’t pull a built-in Sub-Zero out yourself. They weigh 400 lbs or more and the water line is easy to damage
- Find the model and serial number (usually on the ceiling of the refrigerator compartment) and text it to us with your request
