Sub-Zero Freezer Problems We Fix

  • Freezer not freezing while the refrigerator still works
  • Frost or ice building up on the back wall or around the drawer
  • Freezer drawer not closing or sealing
  • Loud fan, buzzing or rattling from the freezer
  • Freezer running constantly
  • Temperature alarm or service light
  • Ice maker in the freezer not making ice

Sub-Zero Freezers We Repair

  • Bottom-freezer and side-by-side built-ins (BI-36, BI-42, BI-48, 532, 611, 632, 642, 650)
  • Designer and integrated column freezers
  • PRO 48 freezer sections
  • Undercounter freezer drawers

Common Causes

  • Freezer evaporator fan motor. Air stops moving and the freezer warms up.
  • Defrost heater, sensor or control. Frost blocks the evaporator coil.
  • Freezer compressor or start relay. The freezer side has its own compressor on most dual-refrigeration models.
  • Dirty condenser. The top coil gets clogged with dust and the system overheats.
  • Drawer gasket or slides. A drawer that doesn’t close fully lets warm air in.

Refrigerator side warm too? See Sub-Zero not cooling. Ice problems? See Sub-Zero ice maker repair. To keep it from happening again, ask about Sub-Zero maintenance, or see all Sub-Zero repair services.

Kevin did a great job diagnosing my appliance issues today. He was able to fix three problems and gave great advice for the fourth problem. This is the third time I have called on Appliance Tech Pros to help me out! I will use the for all of my appliance repairs. You should too.

I would like to give Appliance Tech Pros a 3.5/5 stars and the technician, Kevin, 4/5 stars. Kevin was very communicative and arrived within the expected window. On top of that, he fixed our dryer. Sadly, that is high praise for a service technician. My only complaint is that I suggested he bring both parts that could be the issue. He only brought one and had to make a second trip out to fix it. Appliance Tech Pros as a company was also communicative and set reasonable expectations. That said, they offer a $20 discount for a favorable Google review. Now I'm side-eyeing all their positive reviews… Bottom line/TL;DR – would I hire them again? Maybe. Kevin was great. Discounts for good reviews not so great.
